  5. Acorn Launches Special Access Pack

  9. Acorn Computers is using the Naidex 92 Exhibition for
  10. Special Needs as the venue for launching its new Special
  11. Access upgrade pack. 
  12.  
  13. Following on from the success of Acorn's BBC A3000 Special
  14. Access computer, this new pack allows any of Acorn's
  15. Archimedes computers to be modified at the time of purchase
  16. to allow a variety of switches and Concept or Overlay
  17. keyboards to be connected straight away.

  19. As well as a hardware expansion card, the pack also contains
  20. a suite of software designed specifically to help users with
  21. physical, auditory or visual difficulties.

  23. Accompanying the software disc is a manual with
  24. comprehensive instructions, but also supplied is a coupon,
  25. aimed particularly at those with poor eyesight, allowing
  26. users to obtain a free audio tape of the manual.

  28. Also supplied in the Special Access pack is "The Acorn A-Z
  29. of Special Needs" - compiled by Northwest SEMERC and the
  30. Northern ACE Centre - which is an indispensible reference
  31. guide to hardware, software and a multitude of support
  32. organisations working in the field of Special Needs.

  34. Acorn's Special Needs Co-ordinator, Vorn Hancock commented

  37. greater variety of users. Coupled with the excellent
